Cargamontón El Cuerpo Habla es un conjunto de seres humanos que convergen por sus intereses en común, para dialogar a través del cuerpo, la unidad, el ritual, la resistencia; siempre pensando en el otro, en el río, el medio ambiente, la mujer, el subyugado, los problemas del territorio. Se funda por unos talleres dirigidos por la maestra Ángela Chaverra en el año 2003, para expandir los estudios sobre las artes del cuerpo, con un enfoque investigativo socio político, en donde estudiantes de diferentes áreas de la Universidad de Antioquia aprenden y aportan desde su área del conocimiento para consolidar el colectivo. Actos de fabulación como espina dorsal de El Cuerpo Habla, recrea acontecimientos dolorosos del país de manera poética, irrumpiendo y trazando una línea crítica dentro del contexto donde se desarrolla cada acción, cada acto de resistencia que develan lo absurdo de esta sociedad, y lo importante que es sanar, recordar y liberar. De manera pacífica y muchas veces en el anonimato, cuerpos frágiles situados en el espacio ponen en evidencia lo endeble que es la vida en este país marcado por la guerra, reflejo de una sociedad permeada por la violencia. Hacer arte con el cuerpo es trabajar con nuestros demonios, nuestras pasiones, los sentimientos, las lágrimas, el sudor, la resistencia corporal, mental y emocional, pero sobre todo es enfrentarse a la realidad para trastocarla así sea en un instante; Las artes del cuerpo en su mayoría son acciones corporales que se oponen a la cotidianeidad que afecta a individuos, comunidades y ecosistemas, convirtiéndose en marchas de protesta pacífica contra uno mismo o el sistema. Nacer, crecer, aprender, jugar, reír o llorar en tu entorno te carga de estímulos que van moldeando tu temperamento, tu vocabulario, maneras de caminar y reaccionar que de una u otra forma hacen de nosotros y de la comunidad lo que somos y seremos. Nacer en un contexto de masacres, secuestros, sicarios, mafias, descuartizamientos, carteles, administraciones corruptas, sistemas judiciales débiles o guerras internas, exige que tu producción no calle ante tales acontecimientos, aquí es donde te preguntas para que hacer arte en Colombia, aquí es donde te cuestionas para quien hacer arte y aún más, que debería hacer el arte del momento. El Cuerpo Habla, como laboratorio expandido hace del taller y la sala de exposición un ejercicio colectivo de creación e investigación donde hombres y mujeres se exponen para gritar en silencio los horrores de la guerra, la violencia contra la mujer, la insensibilidad humana, los desastres con el medio ambiente, las desapariciones forzadas, la violencia contra el cuerpo, en actos de resistencia, fabulación, emancipación, o rechazo contra lo que acontece. The Body Speaks is a group of human beings that converge because of their common interests, to dialogue through the body, the unity, the ritual, the resistance; always thinking about the other, the river, the environment, the woman, the subjugated, the problems of the territory. It was founded through workshops directed by Angela Chaverra in 2003, to expand the studies of the arts of the body, with a socio-political research focus, where students from different areas of the University of Antioquia learn and contribute from their area of knowledge to consolidate the collective. Acts of fabulation as the backbone of The Body Speaks, recreates painful events of the country in a poetic way, breaking through and drawing a critical line within the context where every action, every act of resistance that reveals the absurdity of this society, and how important it is to heal, remember and liberate. In a peaceful way and often in anonymity, fragile bodies situated in space make evident how weak life is in this country marked by war, a reflection of a society permeated by violence. To make art with the body is to work with our demons, our passions, our feelings, our tears, our sweat, our physical, mental and emotional resistance, but above all it is to confront reality in order to alter it in an instant. The arts of the body are mostly corporal actions that are opposed to the everyday life that affects individuals, communities and ecosystems, becoming marches of peaceful protest against oneself or the system. Being born, growing up, learning, playing, laughing or crying in your environment is loaded with stimulations that are shaping your temperament, your vocabulary, ways of walking and reacting that in one way or another make us and the community what we are and will be. To be born in a context of massacres, kidnappings, assassins, mafias, dismemberments, cartels, corrupt administrations, weak judicial systems or internal wars, demands that your production does not remain silent in the face of such events, this is where you ask yourself why you should make art in Colombia, this is where you ask yourself for whom to make art and even more, what the art of the moment should be doing. The Body Speaks, as an expanded laboratory makes the workshop and exhibition hall a collective exercise of creation and research where men and women are exposed to shout in silence the horrors of war, violence against women, human insensitivity, environmental disasters, forced disappearances, violence against the body, in acts of resistance, fable, emancipation, or rejection against what happens.
